Anna Gabler - Chrysothemis*

The soprano Anna Gabler was born in Munich and studied at the city’s Academy of Music and Theatre joining the Young Ensemble of the Bavarian State Opera during this period.

Guest appearances lead her to the Bavarian and Dresden State Operas, where she worked with Ivor Bolton, Fabio Luisi and Peter Schneider. She gave her Dresden debut as Gretel in a new production of Hansel and Gretel by Katharina Thalbach, a revival of Freischütz and a new production of Cardillac (The Daughter) followed.

Mrs Gabler received her first invitation to Bayreuth to sing Ortlinde in Die Walküre under Christian Thielemann in 2007. Two years later she was entrusted with the part of Senta in the first production of Der fliegende Hollander further international engagements have taken her to the Théâtre de la Monnaie in Brussels, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Hamburg State Opera under Simone Young, to the Glyndebourne Festival under the baton of Vladimir Jurowski (as Evchen in Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg) and the New National Theatre in Tokyo, where she was heard as Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus  under Dan Ettinger and as Arabella under Bertrand de Billy . class="s21">She was invited to sing Gutrune in the new production of the Ring at the Bavarian State Opera, wherefore she received the “Award of the Munich Opera Festival 2012“. In 2013 she gave her role debut as Senta in Der fliegende Hollander in Bologna followed by her Salzburg debut as Eva in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg under the baton of Daniele Gatti.

Cultivating her concert repertoire, Anna Gabler has sung Verdi Requiem with the Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra under Yutaka Sado, Beethovens 9th Symphony in Hiroshima and Tokio under Eiji Oue, 2nd Soprano in Mahlers 8th Symphony  at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf and Ortlinde in concert performances of Die Walküre with the Berlin Philharmonic under Sir Simon Rattle. In autumn 2014 she is going to debut at the Helsinki Opera with a concert including orchestral songs by Richard Strauss.

During her ongoing career she had so far  the possibility to work with stage directors such as Andreas Kriegenburg, Stefan Herheim, David MCvicar, Christoph Loy and Katharina Thalbach.

Awarded the "Kritikerpreis 2009" by the "German Critics Association", Lothar Zagrosek, was trained under the guide of Hans Swarovsky, István Kertész, Bruno Maderna and Herbert von Karajan. Among the theaters and music institutions with whom he collaborated is worth mentioning: the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Semper Opera in Dresden, the Théâtre de la Monnaie, and Royal Opera House Covent Garden. M° Zagrosek also conducted the Berliner and Münchner Philharmoniker, the Wiener Symphoniker, the Orchestra dell'Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome, Orchestre National de France, the London Philharmonic, the Montreal Symphonic Orchestra and the NHK Symphony Orchestra of Tokyo. He also appeared at prestigious festivals such as Wiener Festwochen, Berliner Festwochen, the London Proms, the Munich Opera Festival and the Salzburg Festival and he is a regular guest at the festivals for contemporary music in Donaueschingen, Berlin, Brussels and Paris. Recent engagements include concerts with the Orquesta Nacional de Espana in Madrid, a new staging of Nono's Intolleranza 1960 at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice and performances of Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice at the Festspielhaus St. Pölten, he then returned to the Teatro la Fenice in Venice conducting  Das Rheingold and Lou Salomé while in Verona conducted Die Schöpfung and in Seoul  Parsifal, he then conducted  Kàt'a Kabanovà in Hamburg and Don Giovanni in Frankfurt.

M° Zagrosek returns to Bologna where in 2011 opened the Schoenberg Experience Festival.
